Ophilia’s study of astrology began at the age of 8. In the many subsequent years of study, her inquiry with star lore and archetypal awareness has deepened through self-study as well as guided study with astrologer Austin Coppock, and many other cosmic guides.

Her approach to reading natal charts applies traditional methods, with a dash of modern interpretation. Bridging technique with mythical metaphor and a deep curiosity for each client’s unique life story, her consultations are focused on excavating soul-callings and highlighting points of growth.

She’s also very moved by the bridging of celestial wisdom and visual arts. Ophilia came in ready to create! It’s hard to recall a time in her life that is pre-painting, writing, sculpting, or otherwise exploring material expressions. In 2015 she received her BFA in Glass Art from California College of the Arts. She wields a multidisciplinary sword, and has exhibited her paintings and sculptural works throughout the United States.

Stick divination is an ancient form of healing that originates with the Dagara people of Burkina Faso and Ghana. 


In 2020, my life changed with the introduction to this ancient art. Thanks to my teacher Mark Bockley, and to his teacher, Martine Somé, I have since had the honor of receiving teachings and eventual initiation in the practice of Stick Divination.

My introduction to these teachings was, in itself, an answer to a prayer. 


In the months prior, you could’ve caught me walking about in the trees or lighting candles and muttering to myself, “I am ready for my teacher to appear.”



This is the power of prayer, of invocations, of speaking aloud your intention: Everything in my life changed following this proclamation. 

Within the span of two days, I left a relationship and was hired by a job that had me relocate to California, where, little did I know, I would find the community of Stick Diviners that graciously shared their ways.

This is a practice that is founded on our earthly belonging. It is guided by the very real presence of our ancestors. It is interwoven with elemental spirits, wild ones, little people, and the animacy of our planet. It is my complete conviction that we need this form of medicine, and those like it, all the more with the insidiously encroaching technological landscape and industrial fanaticism.

Through Stick Divination, we are called to the intention and action of remembering the co-creative and collaborative essence of our existence on this planet.

Like Astrology, Ophilia has been studying and practicing Tarot since the early age of 8 - or earlier! These arts have always been in her field of awareness.

 In addition to her organic and lifelong self-study of the Tarot, she has also taken a number of courses related to the art, with figures such as Austin Coppock and Jessica Dore. While you can book readings with Ophilia here, her primary focus with Tarot for the last few years has been the conceptualization and creation of an original Tarot deck.

Like many good things, it’s taking a good long while.
