Ancestral circle
A meditative evening of guided visualization, contemplation, and writing to call ourselves deeper into ancestral allyship.
We have many kin. Ancestors are stars in the cosmos, animals in the undergrowth, birds taking flight, trees with their wide roots. Ancestors are smoldering coals, leaping flames, water running its course over this vast planet, air filling our lungs.
Whether through our blood lineage or through the animate world that is responsible for delivering us into this precious life, we are surrounded and supported by innumerable forms of life that have come and gone before us.
We invite them more fully when we join together, state our intents of healing and love, and announce ourselves clearly as collaborators in the tapestry of life.
This online gathering will be a soft space to encounter our beloved allies, to join together in prayer, and to journey in the imaginal realms in service to our healing, wellness, and unique medicine that we each carry.

Ancestral connection is literally a birthright. We can’t be born without it. It is constant, yet so many facets of it tend to flow and inform us from the unconscious.
This event is held with the intent of gently awakening and bringing conscious intent to the ancestral energies that are always working with us.

What the evening will entail

We will begin with a brief prompt to enter us all into our intent. You will be invited to share the intent that you are holding in relationship to building or deepening your ancestral relationship. This could be a long-held prayer or something that is emergent in the moment.

After sharing our intentions and prayers, ophilia will share a live guided visualiation practice. This is an opportunity to engage with your imagination, to share your intentions with your ancestors, and to see what healing, medicine, presence, or insight they may offer.

We will then have a few minutes to write about and reflect upon our experience. You will be invited to share some of what you’ve encountered with the group. We will conclude with a prayer of thanks and gratitude before parting ways.
About Ophilia
Ophilia is an interdisciplinary artist, ceremonialist, and musician. She is honored to have been initiated into the Dagara lineage of ancestral healing and divination as well as certified in the practice of Embodied Imagination® dreamwork.
Ophilia sees ancestral healing as a domain of uncovering, sensing, and reclaiming our belonging. Re-membering our ancestral lineage and recalling the potent insight and relevancy of our imagination are keys to finding our way home, right where we are.
